Since 2009 West Wales Airport has supplied the services and world-class accommodation that has enabled the test and evaluation of the Thales Watchkeeper UAS to be carried out.

This important UK program worth £1 Billion has been developed for the British Army under contract from the UK MoD and made its first flight in the UK from the airport in April 2010.

Further development of the Watchkeeper platform as well as other UAS derivatives from the Thales stable is set to continue at the airport for years to come.
